How to Register


Start Your Student Registration

Click on a "Start Registration Now" button. This will link you to our online form and School Finder. If your address is not found in School Finder, contact the Enrollment and Transfer Center at enrollment-office@pps.net or call (503) 916-3205. Proof of your home address is required to start the registration process. Call 503-916-5770 or visit the McKinney-Vento website if you are living in unstable housing and would like help enrolling your child in school. 


Create An Account

Create an account. This should take less than 10 minutes. You will receive an email confirmation once your account is set up.


Fill Out Your Registration Form

Complete the guided step-by-step online registration. You can save an incomplete form, and then return later to complete it. Incomplete registrations will not be processed. Don't worry, we'll send you reminders.


Registration Processing

Registrations are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. A registration is not considered complete until ALL STUDENT RECORDS have been received.

What you'll need...


The following guidelines will help make your registration quick and easy. Start by collecting your child's information noted below:

  • Your child’s birth certificate, passport, or similar proof of age document (Required for incoming kindergarteners and students who have never attended school in the United States. Not required for students who have previously been enrolled.)
  • Address verification (mortgage, rental agreement,

        utility bill, property tax, insurance, or governmental 

        assistance statement.)

  • Proof of guardianship (driver’s license or court documentation).
  • Your child's vaccination records
  • Your child's vision & dental screening (for kids 7 and under.)
  • Emergency contact information
  • Previous school’s contact information (not required at the start of kindergarten)

Prepare these documents for upload, prior to starting your registration. Your forms will not be processed until all student documents required are received by the school. You can also bring them to the school.

This annual September event is a parents-only evening. The evening begins with an overview presentation from the Alameda PTA and Foundation. Parents then proceed to their child’s classroom where teachers provide present information about the school year’s curriculum, calendar events, and expectations of students. Teachers provide fall conference sign-up sheets and the PTA and Foundation provide volunteer sign-up sheets for upcoming events.

Move for the Arts Fundraiser

October 10, 2023 8 AM

Move for the Arts raises money for educational arts programming. Families make donations as students participate in a variety of movement activities. Move for the Arts funds Alameda's Artists in Residence Program.

  • How do I register my child for Alameda?

    The registration process is quick and easy. Begin by creating an account. Then complete the step-by-step registration. Submit the required student information online, in person, or by mail. You will be notified through your account as we process your registration forms.

  • What is SchoolMint?


    SchoolMint is an online registration and communication platform working with public, charters, and private schools to make the registration process for parents easier and faster.


    SchoolMint offers a way for parents to register with a computer or mobile device. Parents can upload student documents, check the status, and even select the method in which they prefer to receive school communications - by email or text.


    Alameda utilizes this software to ensure security and timely response to your student’s registration.

  • Are there any costs to register my child for Alameda?


    No. Because we believe in removing barriers to quality education, we provide all our instruction and education at no cost to the students and families. 

  • Do you provide special education?

    Portland Public Schools encourages families with concerns about their child's development under age 5 to get an assessment for special education services. Call the Multnomah Early Childhood Program, 503-261-5535, for a referral to the PPS Early Childhood Evaluation Team. Contact the PPS Team directly if you have questions: 503-916-3426. (English/Spanish).

    Families concerned about their school-age child's academic, motor, self-help, communication, or social-emotional skills should talk to their child's teacher about an assessment for services. 

  • Do you have a talented and gifted program?

    Yes. If the students meet the criteria, they qualify for Talented and Gifted services (TAG)
